My name is Matías. I grew up in Venezuela and also in Germany. When I was 17, my dad gave me a camera. I went to take photos at a concert and fell in love with it. However, a month later, some thieves broke into my house and stole the camera and other things. That’s how it is in Venezuela.
Many years later, at the age of 26, I got a camera again and my passion for photography was reborn. Living in Berlin and without fear, I decided to start learning on my own while continuing to work as a nurse at night. Without the possibility of affording formal education, I went out into the streets to meet artists and musicians, record them, and make videos.
Now, more than ever, I believe in myself and am doing the work I love, adding value to the people I care about.
My philosophy is simple and is formed by the following values: first and foremost, respect and honesty. I don't care who you are, what you do, or whether you are a man, woman, or other. If you respect yourself and others, and are clear and honest about what you seek, you earn my trust. Purpose in life: if you fight for your dreams, I will help you win those battles and you will help me too. It’s a clear rule of value exchange. Hypocritical and false people, in my experience, do not respect this, so they are not entirely welcome to my services.
"The creative individual is the one capable of revolutionizing traditional systems of ideas based on culturally established systems." - Jerome Bruner
